Sports may seem like its own language. Football, baseball, soccer, and basketball have all become a part of American culture and thus an unavoidable part of our language. This workshop will cover the ASL signs for the fundamentals of a game, professional sports teams, as well as common depictions and concepts used to visually show plays, provide updates and give commentary. Using an immersion approach, participants will apply the learned information. This workshop is ideal for interpreters in educational and VRS settings and those who love linguistics.
