Workshop Description:

This workshop is a spattering of some of the most common topics found in biology and chemistry and frankly, daily life. Topics include: measurements, anatomy of a cell, the periodic table, commonly used elements, as well as tips on how to interpret these concepts.

Educational Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

    1. Describe common measurements used in science including units
    2. Convey the basics of cell structure in ASL more comfortably
    3. Recognize common elements in the periodic table and interpret them using both name and symbol
    4. Interpret scientific ideas with a basic level of comfort

    Presenter Bio:

    Chanté J. Wilson has been working as an interpreter since 2003. She has had the privilege of working in many interpreting settings including government, community, theatrical and medical though her favorite setting is higher education. She is also the proud founder of Zaboosh. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Educational Technology. Chanté is passionate about learning and can often be found tinkering with a new type of software, acquiring a new skill or scoping out her next educational endeavor. She also loves spending time with her amazingly supportive family.
