Workshop Description:

In this interactive webinar we will take a deep dive into the 15 competencies that comprise emotional intelligence and create links to our personal values and our interpreting work. Using the CPC as a foundation for our discussions, we will identify EQ strengths that would contribute to or potentially impede ethical decisions within our interpreting practice. Through exploration, discussion, and hands-on activities we will create a stronger awareness of how our emotions, emotional regulation, and competencies in emotional intelligence can enhance our personal and professional decision-making.

Workshop Objectives:

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • define emotional intelligence and self-identify three strengths and three potential areas of growth from the 15 competencies
  • describe links to their interpreting work and the identified competencies and growth areas
  • engage in group activities that demonstrate their understanding by using the CPC and the EQ competencies
