Moving Through the Work — Application, Awareness & Injury Mitigation

Workshop Description:
This highly hands-on workshop takes a kinesiology-based approach to understanding how interpreting work affects the body in real time. Participants will explore a variety of fascial movements, injury recovery techniques, and hands-on bodywork strategies while paying close attention to how the body feels before and after each the interpreting process. The goal is to build greater physical awareness, recognize non-native patterns that create tension and fatigue, and identify practical strategies that may help reduce strain and support long-term career sustainability.
Workshop Objectives:
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Apply fascial movement strategies while actively interpreting.
- Recognize physical warning signs that indicate overuse or fatigue.
- Implement at least one technique to reduce strain in real-time during interpreting.
- Communicate physical needs effectively within a team or work environment.
